About This Scrapbook
A collection of Canadian curiosities, odd history, and things worth knowing.
Why This Exists
Canada is a strange and wonderful country, and most of it goes unnoticed. The weird history gets buried under the polite national mythology. The cool science gets overshadowed by hockey scores. The genuinely odd geography gets a footnote in a textbook nobody reads.
Stieler Canada is my attempt to fix that — one post at a time. It's a scrapbook of things I've stumbled across that made me stop and say "wait, really?" A molasses flood that actually happened. A province with two time zones. A beaver dam visible from space. The Toronto lab that quietly invented modern AI while the rest of the world had given up.
I'm not a historian or a scientist. I'm just someone who finds Canada genuinely fascinating and thinks more people should too.
